Last Fall, Party for Poppa K debuted in its first ever charity golf tournament. On a morning that was pegged for thunder and rain, we could not have been more fortunate with what we had: a sunny, blue-skied autumn day. Over 100 golfers and guests attended the event and many more made generous donations. When it was all said and done, we raised over $2,500 for Diakon Hospice Saint John!
Another year is upon us and it excites me to announce that the 2nd Annual Party for Poppa K Golf Tournament (Party for Poppa K 2010) will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Center Valley Club in Allentown, PA.
This is not only a great opportunity to get together with friends, play 18-holes and/or enjoy a good BBQ, but the funds raised at this special event will support other deserving families and individuals in need of hospice care.
My father received hospice care after being diagnosed with cancer in 2004. Through the services that hospice provided, my family was able to treasure our last moments with him in the peace and comfort of our home. I am humbled by the success of this event over the past five years, raising more than $7,500 for hospice, and I hope you will join me for Party for Poppa K 2010 on Saturday, October 2, 2010.
